Family Involvement & Support
How are families involved in the treatment process?
We encourage families to be involved in their loved one’s journey. During detox and inpatient care, patients will not have communication with the outside world. This is to minimize distractions and maintain focus on stabilization and healing.
As patients near reintegration and continue their journey outside of treatment, we encourage families and friends to educate themselves about their loved one’s diagnosis. We also provide a series of family resources here.
Can loved ones visit during residential treatment?
We do not permit loved ones to visit during detox or residential treatment. When a person enters addiction and mental health treatment, it’s of the utmost importance that this time is for them. Limiting contact with friends and family aside from approved contacts allows the patient to focus on themselves and their healing.
With this, patients have a higher chance of staying grounded in their recovery, rediscovering themselves, and determining how they would like to spend their life ahead.
Can I talk to my loved ones while in treatment?
Yes, we believe that support from loved ones is beneficial while in treatment, but phone calls with loved ones are limited to specific times, must be with someone on the list of contacts, and require the appropriate paperwork to be completed prior to contacting them.
This is to ensure that the patient can have support, while having a degree of separation to facilitate their recovery.
